MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) -

A woman was arrested for stealing prescription pills from a home in Mountain Home.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Regina Jean Colon, 29, of Gassville was arrested Wednesday.

Montgomery states a report was taken on Feb. 3 from a person claiming that about 20 prescribed morphine pills had been taken from their home. The victim named a suspect who came inside the home to supposedly use the phone and had gone into the bathroom where the pills were stored. After the suspect left, the victim found the pills were gone.

Colon was interviewed about the incident on Feb. 9. She admitted to being at the home, but not to taking the pills, according to Montgomery.

After further investigation, a bench warrant was issued for Colon and she was later arrested. During the arrest Montgomery said investigators found marijuana, suboxone, and drug paraphernalia. An unidentified "white powder substance" was also found and sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for testing.

Colon is in the Baxter County Detention Center on felony charges including possession of a controlled substance and theft of property.

Colon's bond was set at $12,635 and she is expected to be in court on March 12.
