LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Third Judicial District Drug Task Force announced 2 arrests in separate drug cases in Lawrence County.

According to a news release from Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce, the 2 cases involved men being arrested for meth and other charges.

On Feb. 6 the task force arrested Raymond Lee Roedel, 31, at his home in Walnut Ridge. Officers served Roedel with a felony arrest warrant for failure to comply with the sex offender registry.

According to the new release, officers seized about 2 ounces of meth ice from Roedel's vehicle along with a "large quantity of methamphetamine" and drug paraphernalia. He has bonded out of the Lawrence County Jail.

In a separate case, officers arrested James Larkin, 38, of Black Rock on Feb. 21. As part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking in Lawrence County, Larkin was stopped in Portia.

Boyce states an active meth lab was found in Larkin's vehicle. A drug task force officer also seized a "large amount" of meth ice and several prescription medications.

Larkin was taken to the Lawrence County Jail by an Arkansas State Police trooper.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department assisted with both arrests.
