Roof problems for Oak Grove Elementary

OAK GROVE HEIGHTS (KAIT) - Oak Grove Elementary School has sprung a leak.

According to Paragould School District Superintendent Debbie Smith, Oak Grove Elementary ran into problems over the weekend when the roof started to leak.

The leak left some damage to the building as the tiles on the ceiling started to bulge and fall to the floor, leaving water across the floor.

Smith said it was caused by ice that had built up on the roof, which allowed for water to seep into the building.

Smith said the issue is now under control.

"Now the building is fine and we're ready for students, we just need the road conditions to cooperate with us so we can get them here," Smith said.

Smith hopes that road conditions improve and the ice melts so students can get back in the classroom.
