NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for aggravated robbery for his involvement in the murder of Harold Lee Hagar, according to documents filed in Jackson County Circuit Court.
Christopher Lee, 22, of Jonesboro will serve at least 7 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction before he is eligible for parole. Lee had been charged with capital murder and abuse of a corpse. Both of those charges will not be prosecuted and a plea deal was struck, according to court documents.
Lee pleaded guilty to the robbery of Hagar, whose body was found on a rural Jackson County road. Hagar's burned car was found in Craighead Forest Park.
Another man, Garrett Chambliss, pleaded guilty to the murder of Hagar and was sentenced to 37 years in prison.
