A-State Baseball's Zuber named SBC Pitcher of the Week

JONESBORO, AR (astateredwolves.com) – Arkansas State sophomore starting pitcher Tyler Zuber has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Pitcher of the Week for his outstanding performance this past weekend against Louisville the league office announced Tuesday.

Additionally, Zuber picked up SBC Player of the Week honors from College Sports Madness as the White Hall, Ark., native tossed eight shutout innings to earn the win in A-State's 4-1 victory over No. 7 Louisville Saturday, Feb. 21.  He held the Cardinals to two singles and struck out three batters, while only walking two in the contest.

The start against Louisville was just Zuber's second of his career and he now owns a 2.08 ERA in a team-leading 13 innings this season.  He's only given up seven hits and has allowed four runs with three of them being earned.  He's second on the squad in strikeouts with nine and has held hitters to a .152 batting average.
