CHERRY VALLEY, AR (KAIT) - The Cherry Valley Police Department has a new addition to the force that will be used to protect officers and citizens, according to Chief William Colvin.
Officers will now wear body cameras when they are on patrol to help keep record of what occurs on their shifts.
"It protects not only the officer, but the people," Colvin said. "The officer can't say, well I arrested them because of this. If you don't have video evidence, you know, it's kind of hard to prove."
Colvin said he had to wear a camera when he worked for the Wynne Police Department, where he personally had a positive results from wearing the camera.
Colvin said he is a big supporter of officers wearing cameras.
