POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) -

Bobbie Pijanowski loves to play bingo. At least she loves to play the Missouri Lottery's bingo-inspired Scratchers game.

In fact, it is her favorite lottery game to play.

On Valentine's Day the 46-year-old Poplar Bluff grandmother decided to treat herself and buy a ticket.

But, as luck would have it, Kerr's Express, 2930 N. Westwood Blvd. in Poplar Bluff, was all sold out.

So Pijanowski opted instead for a $3 Red Hot Cherries ticket and began scratching.

She uncovered 12 cherries in the game's play area to win $25,000.

Doubting she had actually won, the mother of 4 and grandmother of 5 went back to Kerr's the next day to confirm the win.

She still wasn't convinced.

“I didn't want to believe I had won until I got to the lottery office,” she said.

With her winnings she first plans to pay her bills then do some home upgrades.

As for bingo?

“My favorite games are the bingo scratchers,” she said. “But, I think I'm going to buy some more cherry games now.”
