PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - A Department of Homeland Security grant is helping a Region 8 police department fight terrorism.
The Paragould Police Department will purchase two new vehicles for its tactical team through the $125,000 they will receive.
The grant is specifically for SWAT response to terrorism.
"This lets us take a giant leap forward on getting equipment," Captain Brendan Baldridge said. "Like I said, we've always had good personnel. This is just kind of bringing the equipment to use up to the level of the people we've got."
The department will also purchase new rifle plates, night vision and camera equipment, and ladders.
Cpt. Baldridge said he is excited for the new equipment to arrive.
