JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Entrepreneurs from Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi offered up their best ideas at the Delta Challenge pitch competition Saturday.

The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) hosted the competition at Arkansas State University to pick three entrepreneurs to attend New Orleans Entrepreneur Week.

Candidates got three minutes to pitch their ideas then fielded questions from the judges. Ideas ranged from homemade trash can liners to media consulting to motorcycle boot straps.

In the end, the judges chose Charlie Helms of Wifi Streaming Network, Jason Stinnett of eVestweb and Peter Grumbles of Bluff City BBQ Supply. Maria Hampton of make PAPER is the alternate.

The three winners will receive a $1,500 Delta Entrepreneurship Network fellowship to participate in special segments of the New Orleans Entrepreneur Week.

The Delta Challenge is part of the DRA's Delta Entrepreneurship Network, which was created to "identify, connect, nurture, and grow the entrepreneurial ecosystems that drive the Delta's local and regional economies."
