Restaurant raises over $3,000 for local non-profit organization

CORNING, AR (KAIT) -

Corning residents served a meal on Friday that will change the lives of others for the better.

Julie B's restaurant in Corning donated their proceeds for the day to the Agape House.

Community members came out and raised more than $3,100 for the non-profit organization.

The money raised will be used to maintain the Agape House location in Corning.

“It means a lot to us to have the community support. It shows they believe in what we're doing,” said Sunny Curtis, executive director of the Agape House. “We believe in what we're doing and then they believe in what we're doing and so, it feels good to know that they're behind us.”

The Agape House treats women with addiction problems and helps them become productive members of society.

The Agape House seventh annual 5k will  take place Saturday, March 7, at the Paragould Community Center starting at 8 a.m.
