JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Animal Control Division of the Jonesboro Police Department will resume its low cost vaccine clinics starting March 14.
The monthly clinic was put on hold when the animals at their location received flu like symptoms.
The clinic offers pet owners a low-cost option for rabies vaccinations. Sergeant Larry Rogers said their clinics are aimed at building a better community in Jonesboro.
"Primarily it's to help the citizens out with rabies vaccinations because if the animal, if the dog or cat, is up to date on its rabies vaccinations, we see it as a better community," Sergeant Rogers said.
Sergeant Rogers said these clinics have helped prevent rabies from breaking out in Craighead County for more than 30 years.
