JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Wintry precipitation is once again making its way into Region 8.

Most experienced rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but sleet and snow are expected by Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters say the change over could happen between noon and 3 p.m. in Jonesboro. There is a chance of 5 to 8 inches of sleet and snow combined as the storm moves through.

Meteorologist Justin Logan states, "The closer you get to I-40, the totals get a bit lower. Sunshine returns Thursday afternoon, but temperatures remain below freezing. It does look like we get near freezing on Friday and above freezing into the weekend. Dry into the first part of next week."
