A-State Baseball series against UTA moved to Jackson, Mississippi
JONESBORO, AR (ASU) – The Arkansas State baseball team's Sun Belt Conference opening series against UT Arlington has been moved from Jonesboro, Ark., to Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson, Miss., due to the winter weather moving through the region Wednesday.

The series will now take place on March 7-8 at Smith-Wills Stadium, which also serves as the home of the NAIA Belhaven Blazers, with the first game set to be played Saturday night at 7 p.m.  The Red Wolves and Mavericks will conclude the three-game set with a doubleheader on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.  All three games can be heard locally on 95.3 FM The Ticket/970 AM KNEA.

This will mark the second time this season that A-State has traveled to a neutral site to take on an opponent after the Red Wolves went to Emerson, Ga., Feb. 20-21 and won two of three games against No. 7 Louisville.  The team also already had to postpone a midweek contest against Southern Illinois earlier this week.

Arkansas State enters the contest with a record of 7-3 after sweeping Houston Baptist this past weekend, while UTA has obtained a 3-5 record so far this season.  The Mavericks lost to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 12-9 their last time out, but the final three games of the series had to be cancelled due to weather.
