CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Before the winter weather started affecting the roads, crews in Craighead County had to deal with a different issue.
Traffic in Cash was brought to a halt around noon Wednesday after a tree crashed to the ground, taking a power line down with it on Highway 18 East from the intersection of Highway 226 to Highway 91.
The section of road was closed while crews worked to repair the line and remove debris from the road.
"Probably due to the water," said Lieutenant Gerald Goza with the Cash Fire Department. "It rained all night, due to the water and it being an old tree, the tree fell down across the road and got some power lines."
Emergency responders worked on the scene for about an hour and no one was hurt.
