LEACHVILLE -- 50-year old William Steven Lee of Paragould was pulled over, and arrested late Monday evening after a routine traffic stop on Highway 18 in Leachville.

Kenneth Womack is Leachville's Police Chief.

"He was charged with a DWI -- second offense, driving left of the center line, and driving with defective equipment, and no seatbelt,"said Womack.

Police believe this boy scout executive was also involved in an accident shortly before he was pulled over for erratic driving.

Police say William Steven Lee was traveling westbound when he crossed the center line and struck Boyce Long's mailbox.

Police say Lee's car flew more than 33 feet.

The mailbox is what police believe shattered the windshield.

Police say Lee made it back onto Highway 18, where Leachville officers pulled him over.

Arkansas State Police also have charges pending against him for leaving the scene of an accident.

"All I know is that I have been asked to pick up council property, and get it taken care of. I have not talked to Steven,"said one boy scout employee.

The car Lee was driving is registered to the boy scouts.

Lee had no comment as he was going into court.

Lee faced Judge Shannon Langston this afternoon.

Lee posted bail late Tuesday afternoon.

His trial has been set for Febuary 1st.
