Entergy reports just under 1,500 outages in NEA

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The latest winter storm hit hard and caused power outages across the state.

Overall in Arkansas about 5,400 outages were reported by Entergy Arkansas, Inc.

According to Entergy Customer Service Manager David Burnette, the hardest hit areas in the state were in Malvern and Arkadelphia.

In northeast Arkansas, just under 1,500 outages were reported. 

Many of those were in and around Marion and Hughes, Burnette said. Areas around Blytheville, Wilson and Marked Tree also experienced loss of power.

Burnette said crews will assess the damage by the storm Thursday followed by additional crews and equipment to get power back on.

Most of the power should be restored by 10 p.m. Thursday, Burnette said.
