JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Kiwanis Club of Jonesboro held its 75th annual Pancake Day fundraiser Saturday.
Despite the weather, several people went to the First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro to support the club and, of course, to enjoy some pancakes.
The money raised helps support local ASU scholarships and fulfill the international Kiwanis Club mission.
"We basically want to focus in on those things that are children related, and that's basically the whole international concept about serving children of the world," Kiwanis Club member Bill Dunnam said.
Dunnam said they also use the proceeds to support local school backpacks programs, United Way and the Miracle League.
Last year, they raised over $19,000 and cooked nearly 400 pounds of pancake mix.
This year they prepared to feed more than 1,500 people.
