JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police and animal control officers are investigating an animal abuse case where a cat was shot and wounded by an arrow.
According to a news release, JPD said Patrol Officer Keith Baggett found the cat Friday in a neighborhood off South Caraway Road.
Baggett took the animal to a veterinary clinic for treatment at his own expense.
The arrow was removed and the cat is recovering.
Sergeant Larry Rogers said officers are investigating the case in an effort to pursue animal cruelty charges against those responsible.
