Concordia Christian Academy expanding

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A northeast Arkansas school is expanding this Fall.

Concordia Christian Academy in Jonesboro is now enrolling high school students for August 2015. The school offers kindergarten through 8th grade and will expand to include grades 9 through 12.

Pastor Russell Shewmaker, Pilgrim Lutheran Church, said he believes this addition will bring something new to the community.

“It is another option, an option where children will have the opportunity to learn at perhaps at some individualized rates depending on where they are academically,” Shewmaker said.

Concordia purchased a rental home on its property that they will renovate into the new high school facility.

Shewmaker said they've wanted to expand for many years now and is excited to finally have the finances to do so.
