JONESBORO--Mychal Golden is a name you'll want to remember. Mychal is not your typical two year old, besides a great smile, Mychal's got a real knack for geography. Some might say he's a geographical genius. When ask, Mychal can point out all 50 states on a map.
"We were collecting quarters on the map and we showed him where Arkansas was and wanted to know more," said Rachel Golden, Mychal's mom. " When daddy came home he showed him where all 50 states where and he learned them all before he was two."
Not only has Mychal got the states down on a fixed map, he can now pick them up and identify them by shape, too. He can even tell you what they are famous for. "Go Cubs," said Mychal. For you non baseball fans, that would be Illinois.
"We try to make it fun for him so he'll keep learning," said Mychal's dad, Colby. "If he likes it then he'll enjoy doing it."
But Mychal doesn't stop there, this toddler also has a pretty keen grasp of math and science too. He is truly a "Golden" child. "That's just his thing," said Colby. "Kids love to play ball and stuff but he likes to do more cognitive things."
