Power crews working on downed poles, lines south of Westside Schools

Crews are working on broken power poles south of Westside Schools

According to Jonesboro E-911 Dispatch, crews were called to snapped power poles at Arkansas Highway 349 and Craighead County Road 108 near the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Power lines are down on Highway 349 and a pole is in the road on CR 108. Arkansas State Police is advising drivers to stay clear of the area.

Entergy Arkansas, Inc. tells Region 8 News replacement poles are on there way to the area along with extra crews from Batesville and Monette.

The cause of the downed lines and poles was caused by ground saturation from recent ice, snow and rain, according to Entergy.

Entergy indicated through their outage map that 156 customers in the area are affected by the outage.

The estimated time of restoration is 2 p.m., according to the map.

Westside Schools are also located on Highway 349. The school did experience an outage, but currently have power.
