Jonesboro falls to Pine Bluff in 6A Boys Title Game

HOT SPRINGS, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Hurricane just couldn't get ahead of Pine Bluff and lost the 6A State Championship game by the final score of 46-43.

Jonesboro trailed the majority of the game but pulled within striking range late in the fourth quarter. The Hurricane had the chance to tie the game on a late three point attempt by Marquise Pointer but the shot missed and Pine Bluff went on for the narrow win.

This isn't Jonesboro's first heartbreaking loss, in the 2013 finals, Jonesboro fell on a buzzer beater but responded last season and won the 6A title.

The Hurricane finish the year and also mark the end of the high school careers for players like Pointer and Jarma Perkins, but Jonesboro still returns quite a bit strength for next season.

Jonesboro has made 4 straight finals appearances with 1 championship win.
