JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - More Jonesboro pets are now up to date on vaccinations and in good health.
This is all thanks to Jonesboro Animal Control and Northeast Arkansans for Animals which hosted a low cost vaccination clinic on Saturday.
From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. people could bring their pets to get rabies vaccinations and heartworm tests. Dr. Jack Jones, a state-licensed veterinarian, administered the shots and tests. He said it is vital to get animals protected because there is a large number of wildlife animals that have rabies.
He said his team enjoys giving back. "We are very happy to serve," Jones said. "There are so many people who have difficulty affording veterinary fees and we are trying to help all we can."
More than 200 people brought their pets to the Jonesboro Animal Control building and some of those people brought multiple animals.
Dr. Jones said keeping pets healthy is important to the health of a community.
Animal Control sponsors these low cost clinics every month.
