Police arrest a man for indecent exposure in store parking lot

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Police arrested a man after he allegedly exposed himself in a Kmart parking lot.

Police said they were called out to the Kmart on South Caraway Road in September in response to a man masturbating in the back of a car.

When police arrived, the man had left and could not be found.

A witness said the man was driving a small gray sports utility vehicle and said they were able to get the license plate number.

Police ran the license plate number through the Arkansas Crime Information Center on Friday according to a report.

While the vehicle was not registered to a man, police learned Jason Jerome Williams was the main driver of the vehicle.

Officers responded to Williams' address on Latourette Drive and found a woman sitting in a car that matched the description.

The woman said she had not seen Williams in a while and let officers into his apartment. Police said they went into the master bedroom and found a locked bathroom door.

The woman told police she usually used an old credit card to unlock the bathroom door and gave police one to use.

Officers slid the card in the door and found Williams sitting on the toilet with his pants down.

Police arrested Williams and took him to the Jonesboro Police Department for questioning. He was then charged with indecent exposure.

Williams was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he is being held on a parole violation.

He is set to be in court on March 16.

Similar cases to Williams' were reported in Nov. 2014 at The Mall at Turtle Creek on East Highland and on Monday at the Hays Supermarket on South Gee.

Police have not said if these cases are connected.
