JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Arkansas State Women's Basketball team did not receive its desired at-large bid from the NCAA Tournament committee on Monday night.
The Red Wolves fell in the Sun Belt Conference Championship game to UALR and were hoping a strong season with a high RPI would be enough to receive one of the tournaments bubble bids to get into the tournament, but the selection show on ESPN came and went without their name being called.
The good news for Arkansas State is that the team is guaranteed a berth in the WNIT Tournament by virtue of their second place finish in the regular season standings.
The Red Wolves should know where they are headed for the WNIT tonight between 10 and 11 p.m.
