19 apply for election coordinator's position

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

On Friday, March 20, the Craighead County Election Commission will begin interviewing applicants for the election coordinator's position.

Sandra Taylor resigned the job last month following reports that she neglected to bill several elections.

Commissioner Keith Chrestman told Region 8 News the commission will meet in open session at 1 p.m. Friday then enter executive session to interview 9 of the applicants. The commission plans to schedule a second round of interviews in the coming days.

The commission has received resumes from 19 applicants.

Commission Chair Jeannette Robertson, working in conjunction with the commission and attorneys for Craighead County, willingly and freely provided the information to Region 8 News.
