Cooking chili to help change lives

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

The 6th annual Chili Rodeo was held in Paragould Saturday to benefit the Northeast Arkansas Mission Outreach.

Multiple organizations made chili for the event.

Guests could try samples of the chili and then vote for their favorite.

There was live music, face painting and balloon animals at the event.

Jeremy Biggs said the money raised at this event helps change lives.

“We get to the root causes of either why they are homeless or why they are impoverished,” Biggs said. “And we address those causes as a team and all aspects of their life.”

Biggs said they expected to raise over $10,000 at the event.

That money goes towards rent, utilities, fuel, medical care and helping the homeless.

Biggs also said they couldn't do what they do without all of the community support.
