IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

An Izard County man was arrested after he allegedly dropped a bag of methamphetamine while shopping and took a co-worker to jail with him.

Deputies said a man was shopping at a Melbourne convenience store when he dropped a small bag of methamphetamine on the floor.

A store employee found the bag and Robert James Hobbs was identified on the store surveillance video.

Hobbs was found on a construction site in Melbourne on March 18 and arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Deputies took him to the Izard County Detention Facility on a no-bond Department of Correction hold.

While deputies arrested Hobbs they noticed his co-worker throw away a bag of methamphetamine and a smoking device, according to the report.

Hobbs' co-worker, Timothy Scott Swaim, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia for the purpose to use, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana.

Swaim was released from the Izard County Detention Facility on March 19 after posting a $10,000 bond.
