Runway for the Roses raises money for hospital

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Region 8 came on together Tuesday to support children in Arkansas.

Runway for the Roses happened during the noon hour at the Hilton Garden Inn in Jonesboro.

The event was a fundraiser for Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Co-Chair Jennifer Smith said they can't support the children who receive treatment at ACH and their families without the community's help.

“This event centers around the Centers for Children here in Jonesboro,” Smith said. “This is a place where children can do follow up care, locally. So, they don't have to take a day off work and travel to Little Rock.”

Tuesday's luncheon and runway show helped raise awareness for the sixth annual Derby Day fundraiser, Run for the Roses.

That event will take place on Saturday, May 2 at The Silos in Bono.?

Thanksgiving is a time to be with loved ones and enjoy good food, but since that is not an option for everyone, members of the Jonesboro community came together to make sure as many people as possible were fed.
