JONESBORO, AR - The last of the pending lawsuits from an accident in which a car plowed into a crowd at the Jonesboro Auto Auction has been settled.

The February 2003 accident occured when a compact car went out of control as it entered the auction building for viewing, injuring 28 people.

Thirty-one court actions have been settled, the last of which was approved by U.S. District Judge George Howard, Jr.  That suit was brought by a family from Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Terms of the settlement were kept confidential.  Attorney Donn Mixon of Jonesboro says the total settlements exceeded the $2.05 million in insurance policies that covered the auction.

Mixon says it is possible that two or three more lawsuits could still be filed over the accident.
