Spring time is here and so are allergies

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Spring time is here and with the warm weather comes those pesky allergies.

If you are suffering from cold like symptoms minus the fever, your allergy symptoms may be blossoming with the flowers.

If your allergies haven't kicked in yet, Allergist Dr. Scot Snodgrass said just wait.

“We've seen a real uptick the last week, but it's just the tip of the iceberg,” Dr. Snodgrass said. “Things we've not seen, our major tree pollen yet. That'll begin in the next couple of weeks.”

When the major tree pollen does arrive, Dr. Snodgrass said there are ways to treat your allergies.

“You treat allergies one of three ways,” Dr. Snodgrass said. “You try to reduce your exposure. You treat with medications and then we have a treatment that's been around for a long time, allergy shots, which treats the cause rather than the symptoms.”

Dr. Snodgrass said allergies should hit full force in the next couple of weeks.
