BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - More than $1 million dollars in renovations is coming to the Batesville Regional Airport and it doesn't sound like it's going to take too long to complete.
Manager Darren Wilkes said the renovation plans include, adding to the taxi runways so more hangers can be built on the property and to renovate the terminal.
Wilkes said there is a waiting list for people to store their planes.
"Every hanger we have is full," Wilkes said. "The terminal hasn't been renovated in 30 years so we are going to put a modern twist on it. Make it look good."
The terminal project will cost around $720,000 and extending the taxi runway is $450,000.
Airport officials are currently working with an architect right now.
The plan is to start renovating in June and July.
He expects the taxi way will be finished in 6 to 8 months and the terminal will be complete in about a year.
