BBQ dinner to work miracles for a third straight year

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Darrell Hicks and the Cajun Cookers are getting ready to feed hundreds of people this Saturday night.

The third annual Weiner Pig Roast, to benefit the Miracle League of Jonesboro, features BBQ and jambalaya.

The event features live entertainment, one-of-a kind auction items and fun for the whole family.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling Michelle Cadle at 870-253-2617.

Cadle said last year's auction raised nearly $50,000 with local businesses and groups donating items.

The $2.8 million dollar Miracle League of Jonesboro complex opened last year with a rubberized field and special play areas.

Nearly all of the money raised for the project came from private donations.

Because of that and donations of time by local business owners and contractors, Miracle League of Jonesboro became a reality.

Since that time, youngsters like Miracle League Ambassador Sadey Bowen and Maggie Hogue have enjoyed the park many times.
