OAK GROVE HEIGHTS (KAIT) -

Two people were airlifted to a Memphis hospital following a crash late Thursday afternoon in Greene County.

According to Arkansas State Police, a Chevy Trailblazer was headed north on Arkansas Highway 135 near the Oak Grove Heights "Y" when the driver turned left onto Arkansas Highway 34.

The driver slid off the road and crashed into a Chevy Impala, police said.

ASP said an unrestrained front passenger in the Trailblazer was ejected from the vehicle. The SUV then rolled over on the passenger side, pinning the passenger underneath. A crew with the Greene County Rescue Squad was called on to get the person out.

The passenger of the Trailblazer was airlifted to a Memphis hospital along with the driver of the Impala.

The driver of the Trailblazer was taken to a Jonesboro hospital. A passenger in the Impala was taken to a Paragould hospital.

Also police said a 2-week-old baby was in the Trailblazer but was not injured.

Police state those involved appeared to not have life-threatening injuries. No names have been released in this crash.

The driver of the Trailblazer may be cited for no driver's license and careless and prohibited driving, police said.

On the Greene County Sheriff's Department Facebook page Sheriff David Carter commended the rescue squad for their "rapid response and tireless professionalism."
