PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Many ventured out of the house Saturday to learn more about Arkansas's rich history.
An Indian Artifact Show took place at the Paragould Community Center. A number of collectors brought pottery, arrow heads, and other artifacts to display, sell, and trade.
Dan Martin, organizer of the event, said he is excited more people are finding an interest in the hobby. "It keeps getting bigger and bigger, and that's what we want," Martin said. "We want the people to bring their stuff to display and come to show everybody, and be proud, you know, and get a general idea."
The event was held in honor of Bill Rowlett. Rowlett was a long time artifact collector from Lafe, AR.
Martin said, more than anything, the event is a learning opportunity for the public. He said Region 8 has an abundance of history. People just have to go out and find it.
