January 30, 2005 - Updated at 7:40 a.m. CST on 1/31/05

JONESBORO -    New details are emerging in the weekend death of a 25-year-old Jonesboro man. The body of Matthew Ellis was found early Saturday afternoon. Witnesses indicate Ellis and two friends had been drinking the night before. In a statement to police, witness Kyle Rees, whose home Ellis was found in, said he estimated Ellis had as many as ten beers the night before.

Matthew Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene of unknown causes. According to the police report, the 9-1-1 call came from 25 year old Kyle Rees, after Kyle Coleman, also 25, was unable to wake up Ellis, who was laying on a couch.

Police are still investigating, but say there was no criminal activity indicated at the scene. Ellis's body is being sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy to try and determine a cause of death.
