MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A towboat deckhand missing since Tuesday has been identified.

Mississippi County Sheriff Dale Cook identified the man as 36-year-old Aaron Levar Lane of Osceola.

Witnesses said Lane fell overboard early Tuesday morning.

On Wednesday the U.S. Coast Guard suspended the search for Lane offering its condolences to his family and friends.

However, Cook said Thursday his office will continue to the search once the Mississippi River crests.

Cook also said he cannot report Lane as deceased. The case is still being handled as a missing persons investigation.
