Arkansas School Athletic Money

A new report out from the state finds that Arkansas school districts spent 2.3% of their budgets on athletics last year.

The report released by the state education department said the sports share of $2.7 billion dollars was about 61 million.

A spokesperson for the Triple-A said the report showed that "extracurricular activities are probably the best thing going for the money.''

The state is working with districts to come up with a uniform procedure for reporting maintenance and utility expenses.
