State County Fair Money

After 2 years with no state money funneling to 73 county fairs, the dollars may be headed back to them.

Up until 2003, each county received at least $3,600.00 dollars toward its fair, until an apparent legislative oversight ended the money.

Now some fair managers, especially those in the smaller counties, are desperate for money.

In response, state senator Steve Faris of Malvern is sponsoring this year's livestock and poultry commission funding bill to include the money for the county fairs.

The democrat says the money doesn't amount to a lot, but it should help.
