JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Robin Thomas got “no love” from online dating sites. So, he decided it was time to do something different.

These days the father of three can be seen driving around Paragould with a sign on his pickup truck which reads: “Looking for a date? Would you date a single father?”

Thomas said the decision to make his rolling quest for a date so public came after several failed attempts at finding love online.

“I decided it can't be any worse than what I was doing,” he said.

While he's not looking for any particular type of woman, Thomas said he's looking for someone who is “normal and down-to-earth.”

The retired cook says he also prefers a woman closer to his own age, “at least 28.”

Because he shares joint custody with his son, he's also looking for a woman who's closer to home.

“Every dating site keeps throwing people up from Texas, Tennessee and Alabama,” he said. “I didn't get any love from them.”

Thomas also does not have the time to venture far to find that love.

“When the kids are in school, that's my free time,” he said. “Also, I'm not what you'd call a party person.”

Instead, his idea of a good time is to play pool, go bowling, bar-be-cue and go to the river with his kids.

What do the kids, who range in age from 6 to 11, think about the sign?

“They think it's cute,” he said.
