Police search for man in wig who robbed grocery store

WYNNE, AR (KAIT) -

Police are investigating after a man in a wig robbed a grocery store in Wynne.

According to a news release from Wynne police, officers were called to the Hay's grocery store, 115 South Falls Blvd., around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an armed robbery.

Police said a black male suspect wearing dark pants, a dark sweatshirt, black hat and "a long, curly, brownish rust-colored wig."

The suspect, according to police, showed a handgun and threatened to kill the store clerk if she didn't cooperate by placing money from the safe into a sack he handed her.

An undetermined amount of money was taken from the store and the suspect escaped.

Wynne police urge anyone with information about the incident to call the department at 870-238-8718.
