We lost a brother this week. KASU News Director Greg Chance died Tuesday night in a single-car crash in Craighead County.
Family members told A-State that Greg suffered a heart attack behind the wheel. "An Indian in my heart and a Red Wolf forever," is how he signed off every broadcast. It's also how Greg Chance lived his life.
Greg was one of the hardest working journalists in the business. When you saw him at a story, a meeting or event, he was working hard because he loved what he was doing.
Greg completed his bachelor's degree in radio-television broadcasting in 1974 and was the long-time News Director at KASU, the public broadcasting service for Arkansas State University. During his tenure his newscasts received numerous awards from the Associated Press, Arkansas Farm Bureau, and the Arkansas Education Association.
Say a prayer for Greg's wife Cindy and all of his friends and family. All of us here at Region 8 News will miss Greg and celebrate his great accomplishments to Journalism, to the university and to the community. Greg Chance made this A Better Region 8.
