UPDATE: police arrest two in connection to Poplar Bluff shooting

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) -

A man and woman are both facing murder charges after a deadly shooting in Poplar Bluff Friday.

Poplar Bluff police responded to an apartment in the 500 block of Cynthia Street for a shooting around 5:50 a.m.

When police and EMS arrived at the scene they found a man shot several times.

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He later died.

Later Friday, police arrested Walter L. Currie, Jr., 21, of Broseley in connection with the shooting.

He is charged with second degree murder.

Patricia Bales, 24, of Poplar Bluff, was also arrested.

She is charged with second degree murder, second degree assault, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
