Arrest made after police found woman bleeding from face

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Blytheville police arrested a man following a reported stabbing call.

According to Captain Scott Adams, officers were called to the 1000-block of Hearn Street Saturday night.

Adams said when officers arrived they met with a woman who was bleeding from the face. She "appeared to have been assaulted with a cutting instrument," Adams also stated.

The woman was taken to a Blytheville hospital for treatment.

Asa Peoples, 56, was arrested at the scene.

Peoples was arraigned in district court Monday where a judge found probable cause to charge him, according to Adams. He was charged with second degree battery.

Bond for Peoples was set at $30,000.
