JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman is facing multiple drug charges after being pulled over for dark tint on her windows early Monday morning.
Officer Brandon Butler with the Jonesboro Police Department stopped Jodie Paige Gibson, 21, at the intersection of Johnson Avenue and Fisher Street around 2:05 a.m.
He stopped her because the tint on her windows was too dark.
During the traffic stop, Officer Butler said Gibson looked "very nervous" and denied his request to search her car.
When asked if she had anything illegal in the vehicle, Gibson said no.
An assisting officer, Weston Gates, observed Gibson reaching under the driver seat and pushing items under it.
She later told Officer Butler that she had marijuana with her and gave him a small amount.
According to the police report, officers then searched her vehicle and found a large glass jar with two plastic baggies containing cocaine and a jar with a small amount of marijuana in it under the driver's seat.
Small plastic baggies and a digital scale were also found in the car.
Officer Gates searched Gibson's purse and found two small containers with white residue in them also.
When asked about the drugs, Gibson told an officer they were not hers but that she understood she was in possession at the time.
Gibson reportedly said the drugs belonged to an ASU football player but did not give a name.
In all, Gibson was in possession of 22 grams of cocaine and 2 grams of marijuana.
She was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and charged with felonies for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and improper window tint.
According to the Craighead County Sheriff's Department's website, Gibson was released from the jail at around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
