Police: Man threatens a family with jug full of gasoline

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A family feared for their life and property after a man threatened them for the second time.

According to a police report, Mike Miles pulled up to the victim's home on Craighead County Road 762 and Pine Log Road on Friday.

The report states Miles started shooting a pellet gun at the victim's boyfriend. Then he yelled “the next time it will be a shotgun.”

Police said Miles came back later that evening with a jug with a rag hanging out of it, a pill bottle and paper. Miles attempted to light the paper.

After lighting it he took off, but the victim's boyfriend was able to put it out.

Detective Justin Rolland with the Craighead County Sheriff's Department said the jug was full of gasoline.

“It's nothing more than a small bomb, so yeah they had reason to be concerned, especially with that many individuals there at the residence and the close proximity of the container full of fuel,” Rolland said.

Rolland said no one was injured and Miles was arrested & appeared in court Tuesday.

This is the second time Miles has threatened this family.

According to Rolland, in September, Miles threatened the family in a similar way and was charged with terroristic threatening in the first degree.

He was also under a no contact order after the September incident, which Rolland said he violated Friday.
