A Better Region 8: Plan ahead, be weather aware

A Better Region 8: Plan ahead, be weather aware

Sunday night was a strong reminder that spring severe weather season is in full swing here in Region 8. Although we saw some damage, we were fortunate that there were no fatalities.

As we continue into the next couple of months, we need to remember, we're still in tornado season. I encourage you to make absolutely sure you and your family are prepared. Find your safe spot in your home, school or business. Test your weather radio to make sure it's working properly and if it's not, call us and we'll help you out. Download the Stormtrack 8 Weather App. Make sure you're communicating with your neighbors, friends and family members, especially the elderly.

And know that the next time the tornado siren blows, Ryan Vaughan, Justin Logan and Andrew Wilson will be there for you on both our ABC and our NBC channels as well as kait8.com and all social media.

Let's work together and take the steps to make sure we're all prepared, because unfortunately, tornadoes are part of life here. Being weather aware and prepared will make this A Better Region 8.
