BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) - For the second straight day, Brookland sent one of its athletes to the next level after baseball player Dillon Groves signed his letter of intent to play baseball at Ouachita Baptist University on Thursday.
Groves is a catcher and hopes to provide a solid presence behind the plate for the Tigers in the 2016 season as well as continue to help out the Brookland baseball team with the remainder of his senior season this year.
Like any athlete, Groves put in a lot of work to get this scholarship. "This is a great moment for me in my life right now and get it off my shoulders and decide where I want to go to college has been a really great moment," said Groves, "Ever since I've played T-Ball I've always wanted to play college baseball so I'm glad I finally get to do it."
Groves' future team is currently in the middle of a great season, holding a record of 23-13 overall with a 13-6 record in conference play. The Tigers have 2 games remaining before the Great American Conference Tournament begins.
