Shooting suspect, believed to be armed, sought by sheriff's office

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Baxter County authorities are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting where another man was grazed by a bullet.

Sheriff John Montgomery said Friday his office is looking for Jaycob Luke Anderson, 30, who was last known to live in the Bexar area.

Anderson is wanted in connection to an incident that happened Thursday night in the 100-block of Cochran Drive.

Montgomery said when deputies responded to the scene they found a man had be grazed on the left arm by a bullet fired at him. An ambulance was requested, but the victim refused treatment.

The victim told deputies Anderson shot at him. Deputies were told by the victim that Anderson had come to the victim's home to retrieve "personal property belonging to a third party", Montgomery said.

A fight ensued and Anderson apparently shot a firearm at the victim, the sheriff stated.

Anderson was last seen leaving the home in a blue SUV that may have been a Chevrolet Tahoe or a GMC Yukon. It has Arkansas tags with a partial license featuring "WII".

Montgomery said Anderson is believed to be armed. He says if you know where Anderson is call the sheriff's office at 870-425-7000.
