GR8 Job: ASUN students grab the gold at state competition

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A GR8 job shout out goes to 9 Arkansas State University-Newport students who recently earned medals, including 4 golds, at the Arkansas SkillsUSA competition in Hot Springs.

Aaron Redmond of Brookland won a gold medal in the Information Technology Services competition, Seth Smithee of Paragould took top honors in Electrical Construction Wiring, Kaitlyn Lard of Tyronza grabbed the god in Cosmetology and John Angelo of Jonesboro topped the field in the Internetworking competition.

Trailing Angelo in Internetworking were ASUN students Cody Dickens of Harrisburg who won the silver medal and Chandler Vance of Jonesboro who took home the bronze.

Other winners included Matthew Wheeley of Jonesboro who won the silver medal for Automotive Service Technology, Savanna Reed of Monette took silver in Job Skill Demonstrations, and the team of Brittany Reed of Morrilton and Skye Roach of Trumann won silver medals in Esthetics. Stephen Rasnic of Jonesboro earned a bronze medal in the HVAC competition.
